About me

Hi there, my name is Brianna! I’m a licensed psychotherapist in both Ohio and New York, perpetual student, community organizer, activist, and creative. I bring experiences from my yoga teacher and birth doula trainings, as well as invaluable lessons from my own life journey into my holistic practice. As a second generation Arab American, I understand the richness and beauty that being part of a collectivistic culture can provide.

With that in mind, I am also aware of the issues that can arise in trying to forge your own identity and create fulfilling relationships while embracing the most meaningful aspects of your culture. I love working with children of immigrants trying to navigate intergenerational family dynamics or cultural conflicts. Together we can weave your intersecting identities and values into the tapestry of your life.

I am also passionate about working with women in their evolving life stages. From students trying to align their interests with their studies, to early career women gaining their footing in a patriarchal world, women affected by diet culture and unfair ideals of thinness, and moms trying their best to juggle it all. My doula training has provided me with the tools to partner with women during the perinatal period as they navigate these intense changes and shifting identities.

I am most fulfilled when working with clients of marginalized identities. I am constantly advocating and centering anti-racism, reproductive justice, wealth redistribution, and 2SLGBTQIA+ and Indigenous rights in my work. Informed by my privileged and oppressed identities, I take a strong stance against white supremacy, imperialism, settler colonialism, patriarchal systems, and capitalist structures and will dedicate time to exploring how these systems affect you. It’s impossible to separate the personal from political when we are unassumingly born into flawed systems. This can cause so many of us to feel deeply alone and misunderstood. I strive to work with clients in co-creating a space where you feel safe enough to share your experiences and embrace nourishing new ones. I also love working with clients in finding community outside of sessions, because we are social creatures by design and need connection. My desire for a more just and socially-conscious world where there is liberation from all oppressive forces fuels me. I find it so fulfilling to work with folks affected by these structures, as well as with fellow comrades who are also in this fight for liberation for all.

When I am not working, you can find me hiking with my wildly enthusiastic little dog, trying out different restaurants or making delicious new recipes, curled up with a page-turning fictional book or reading leftist literature, moving my body in some way, making pottery, or engaging in mutual aid.
